Sheila McCormick, Business Office Manager, and her husband, John, were invited to collect barn wood off of Mr. Chester Taylor's land. John, who is a craftsman on the side, decided to build Mr. Taylor a shelf to thank him.
Mr. Taylor's property has been in his family for over 200 years. The barn was built in 1914. The nails on this shelf are even originals from the barn! The barn was used for years to house tobacco.
We are so happy to hear of stories like this. Learning the history of Mr. Taylor, his land and barn, and a staff member going above and beyond to bring a little bit of memories back in to their every day life.
